G24 61 Hi I am going to make a movie in about 4-5months or something, anway I wanted it to be based around hacking. I am quiet interested in that topic, so I thought it would make a good movie. My inpsiration came from the following movies: Mr.Robot Who Am I So yeah, does anyone have some ideas/stories for a good hacking related movie? Also I want to make it fairly realstic, so I think using python, or linux would be a good idea. Nightcall 4 If I were you, I would be careful about making a movie project, on a topic you know a lot about. Because it can make it hard to get a new take on the subject, and it will end up mundane, especially if you just copy concept(s) from previous works. Instead (especially if it is your first movie project), I would recommend picking a subject that might interest you, but also something that you don't know a lot about, there will be some extra work to be done, in terms of research, but it will be well worth it. (I assume you know a lot about the subject since you are on this forum, I realized you said "interested in " and not "knows a lot about" in OP, however i'm too lazy to rewrite this paragraph, point still stands). Should you still want to go the route of the original subject (hacking), I think you should reflect on what hacking means and what it is. Before working on the plot, I think it would be helpful to figure out what kind of atmosphere you want, time period (past, present, future), the morality of the movie and so on. Once that is done, and you basically have a template to write your plot into. I have seen Mr. Robot, and it's a very classic example of an underdog hero story. Our protagonist, works a mundane job in IT, takes drugs, and suffers from anxiety (and depression?), he is just getting by while having to deal with his struggles, he is a hero, fighting against the evil big corporations, as if it is him against the world, all odds are against him, yet he still continues and his journey progresses, he finds a like minded group and so the story goes. I think this is why the show has become so popular, because we want to root for Eliot, because we have struggles of our own we need to overcome, and we might sometimes feel like it us against the world, and the odds are against us, so we are rooting for ourselves too.
