Hackers laundered at least $ 10 million via Twitch

Recommended Posts

In October 2021, a link to a torrent file containing almost 130 GB of Twitch data was published on 4chan. Unknown hackers have made the source codes and business data of the platform publicly available.
Twitch confirmed the hacking and stated that the "drain" occurred due to a change in the server configuration.

Studying the data, the journalists noticed a suspicious feature: some streamers from Turkey, who have only 30-50 earn up to $ 1800 per day. After receiving a donation, streamers return 80% of the amount to hackers.

Over the past 2 years, 2,400 Turkish streamers have laundered about $ 10 million.

In the screenshot above, you can observe the correspondence of hackers in the discord with one of the streamers. The scheme as a whole has long been known to everyone, but the evidence in the form of correspondence has surfaced only now.
