what do you mean, the PHP and JS the file selectors are different? and how is it pointing past my root folder? I got the files for the website from someone, so I'm not sure how they are set up, I just copy pasted and played with everything till I found the problem Edit: I now notice that my mistake was never the code. I had every folder on a wrong permission code, everything works fine now... Thanks for all your help :) +Like on your posts here

No, the site does not have a .htaccess file and I was confused by this too, but I have been through all the tests I could think of regarding that part of the code with no luck... But the site is accessible only the part I posted is the problem, the site works fine

I'm trying to upload my website, but the index.html file can't be accessed through webbrowser and comes out as an 403 error. I looked through the code and narrowed down the problem to this code that just wont work with me i also tried looked through google with no luck...
