So my dads Paypal got hacked. What to do?

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

Today, when my dad logged into his Paypal, 100 euros was removed to games and xbox live for a month. My dad doesn't know what the reason for that is. He thinks that someone broke into his PC. Right now he enabled 2FA code. He is upset the whole morning. Does anyone here knows how you maybe can see if someone broke into your pc?

This PC ---> Right Click and Manage ---> From Left list and under Computer Managment choose Local Users and Groups --->

Pick Groups and Click on Administrators it will open a menu with all members with admin access to your pc

pick users and you will see all users have access to your pc ,

Install eset full scan including rootkit scan then clean pc then contact paypal (phone if possible) then complain then you'll be refunded then enable 2FA next time.  :smart:

There are many reasons to get hacked. Same password on all accounts, PC infected by virus, etc.
