Not my method

 

Choose a giftcard from their giftcard rack. I'll use an Xbox MSP card as an example.

Take a picture on your phone of the code. A lot of giftcards are using the peel-off, instead of the scratch-off, making this even easier. So simply replace the 'peel-off' back so that it covers the code.

Go to a register and checkout (make sure that they scanned the card, so it's activated!!).

When they say how much to pay, simply say "I left my wallet in my car." and that you'll be right back.

Leave and activate the code with your phone. Just go to xbox.com and redeem code. Same thing if it's an iTunes card, amazon card, etc..

Tips:

Go into the restroom with the giftcard to take the picture if you feel the need too.

Avoid cameras.

Don't act stupid. Be natural and play it cool.

This method is different, but similiar to this one.
