jangijatt 1 i always have 50+ tabs opened in the background, so I was wondering do they keep eating bandwidth, causing slower internet speed? And if yes, what can be done about this (without loosing the tabs) hoping to get some expert advice :kek:
H Λ C K Ξ D 7 Chances are that any slowdown you're experiencing from having multiple page tabs open is caused by dipping in to your computer's virtual memory. Virtual memory is an extension of the system's main memory, the RAM, with hard drive space. It is used to expand the maximum amount of information the computer can process at any given time. Typically, inactive programs are cached to the virtual memory and reloaded when they're brought back up. The screeching-halt slowdown when jumping from tab-to-tab may be caused by the computer pulling the shelved page back into the system's RAM. If you are loading new pages at the same time, this can affect the computer's ability to assemble and display a newly downloaded page; however, it is not affecting your Internet speed. jangijatt 1 thanks bro, my PC is fine with handling all the pages (unless I open some creepy website that uses back-end miner) Then it must be the vpn/proxy then. right? Sometimes I use both side-by-side
Jasmine 17 tabs generally eat ram ( based on the browser sometimes) speed is more of devices connected and downloads going on say I play destiny on 4 ps4's on a router that can only handle two.. I would be flying every fucking where
K a k a s h i 1 Just close some of the tabs and find out??
MariaTwitch 1 That depends. In Chrome every tab has its own process, which means it will definitely slow your PC down if you have a ton of open tabs. With other browsers it will also slow everything down, but not as quickly. That being said though, if you have a decent PC you shouldn't really see any major problems.
