Hi, I'll be making a little tutorial on how to secure your data against unwanted access / cops.

 

I - DISCLAIMER

    Okay don't get me wrong, you won't have visit from the FBI from selling 5 shit fortnite accounts every day, so you'll probably never have any problems with keeping your data in the clear.

 

    So why am I making this tutorial, well two things :

 

        - I like privacy, I feel safer knowing my personal shit and my ultra hardcore hentai porn is safe from my sister.

        - I don't need to justify myself, if I want to make a tutorial about it, i'll make one and you can suck my dick. :comfy:

 

II - How is it protecting me from the damn coppers man :pepegun:

     I'll try not to get into details too much but there is a thing called Plausible Deniability, if I had to summarize it I would say that you can't force someone to disclose informations that possibly does not exist.

     Tldr, cops are fucked because they can't prove that there is a hidden partition on your disk. (more info here)

 

III - Setting it up

1.     First head over to https://www.veracrypt.fr/en/Downloads.html, and download the installer for your OS.   
   
2.     Run it, accept license and install veracrypt.
   
3.     Run veracrypt now, you should see a window like this (
   
   
   
4.     Open the Disk Management tool of windows (Search > Disk Management, you should see this
   
   
   
5.     We now have to create a partition that will be used for encryption, to do so, click on the HDD main partition first (the D: or C: big blue block) , right click > Reduce Volume/Size > Enter the amount of Mo you want to reduce, this amount correspond to the size of your future encrypted partition, right now i'm using 40go so 40 000 mo, click confirm and wait.
   
6.    Now you should have a black "Non Allocated" block of memory, we need to convert it to a partition, right click on it and select > new  simple volume > Click next, next, random letter, next, format it with NTFS, default allocation size, and set "Fuck Cops" as a nam, quick format enabled  and leave activate compression disabled then click Confirm.
   
7.    Go back on veracrypt, click on Volumes (Top left) > Create new volume > Encrypt a non system partition/drive > HIDDEN VERACRYPT VOLUME > Normal Mode > Select Device > and select the partition you just made (it should be named Fuck Cops)
   
8.    Click ok, never save history, next, now choose an encryption, I use AES(Twofish(Serpent)) it's a bit slow to decrypt (like a minute) but I use this one because I find it funny that there is possibly no human way to decrypt it without the password.
   
9.   Leave SHA 512 as hash algorithm and click next > next.
   
10.    It's time to set your password, I would recommend "qwerty" or "crackedto", no but for real please choose a long password or your protection will be wack, this password will be your FAKE VOLUME password.
    
11.   Large Files : Yes or No, it's up to you.
    
12.   Now it's time to move your mouse like a retard, it is used to collect randomness. Leave all other options default.
    
13.    Click format, yes and wait. VeraCrypt is now done creating the "Fake" volume, this is the volume you will need to show the cops, so store some dumb shit on it.
    
14.  Once done storing memes on it, click next, next, choose the same options and repeat the process, set size of the HIDDEN VOLUME, and select the password for the HIDDEN volume IT MUST NOT BE THE SAME ONE AS THE FAKE VOLUME > Click next and exit.
    
15. Congrats, your volume is now created.
     

 

III - Using it

1.  The hidden disk will be re-encrypted and closed automatically on each shutdown.
   
2. To get the data back, open vera crypt.
   
3. Select a random unused letter in the list by clicking it (note, apparently you must not use the letter used while setting up, so choose another one)
   
4. Click auto-mount devices and enter your HIDDEN volume password (if you are forced to show the disk by cops, enter your FAKE volume password and let them enjoy the memes) and click okay.
   
5. The decrypted disk is now accessible to the letter you selected on your file explorer, congrats you're done.
    

 

Congratulations, your data is now protected, no police force can access it / force you to show it. Thanks you for reading this tut, don't forget to leave a like if it helped you. :fiesta:
